We got to check out Tampa’s newest Brazilian steakhouse, and it did not disappoint! Terra Gaucha, originally opened in Jacksonville, offers a traditional churrascaria experience that includes a variety of roasted cuts of meat and a gourmet bar stocked with fresh vegetables, cured meats and cheeses, authentic Brazilian hot sides and more. For those of you who may not know, a churrascaria refers to the “churrasco” style of cooking which roughly translates to “barbecue” in Portuguese.
The Way it Works
For one great price, guests can enjoy unlimited eats–starting with the salad bar, and continuing with the amazing Brazilian meats. Servers guide you through the experience, and as long as you give the green light (literally), they will continue to serve up table-side meats.
My Personal Favorites
Something about salad bars just makes you wanna go crazy and try to fit as much as humanly possible on your plate. Terra Gaucha not only had a salad bar, but meats and cheeses as well (see beautiful parmesan pictured below). I got the pineapple caipirinha, because when in Brazil–or a Brazilian steakhouse–you drink as the Brazilians would. Caipirinhas are made with cachaça, lime, and sugar (+pineapple for mine). All contents are muddled and poured together to keep all the flavor in. 10/10 recommend. For my entree(s), I kept it simple with white rice, black beans, and garlic sirloin with a side of chimichurri. SO GOOD.
And because I have an inevitable sweet tooth, I had to get dessert too, even though it wasn’t included. We ordered the creme brûlée with a grand marnier topping and it was mesmerizing! Servers take a shot of grand marnier and light it enough to caramelize right before your eyes, then pour it right on the dessert.
