…but really. My sister and I completely pigged out at the North Tampa Market today. We walked in with low expectations, having never been to a local market before. As long as I saw a stand with beautiful, organic produce, I was going to be happy. Let’s just say I was blown away. Live music played “Sweet Caroline” as we walked by all of the tents and trucks, and naturally our first stop was at a grilled cheese food truck. With it being a cool 91 degrees outside, there were plenty of refreshments for all taste palettes: fresh squeezed lemonade, specialty teas, slushies, handcrafted popsicles, iced coffee, and affogatos (aka God’s gift to the coffee lover with a sweet tooth). As if it couldn’t get any better, we stumbled upon a tent with puppies and kittens available for adoption. For $1, you could “smooch a pooch” and help toward care for critically injured animals. Several stands were having Mother’s Day specials for the procrastinators of the world (me). Any day that you can kiss puppies, enjoy a fancy popsicle, and simultaneously knock out gift shopping is a day well spent.
